ABOUT THIS ROLE

WK Kellogg Co is seeking an environmentally focused and dedicated Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist to join our Safety team at our Battle Creek manufacturing facility. In this role, you’ll support the EHS Manager in driving the implementation and continuous improvement of robust environmental, health, and safety programs. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with corporate EHS policies and regulatory requirements, while helping the site achieve its safety and sustainability goals.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Support the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager in ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and permit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation and submit required reports:
    • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 300 Log
    • Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) Tier II and Form R
    • Risk Management Plan (RMP)
    • Stormwater and wastewater reports
  • Deliver comprehensive safety training programs covering Working at Heights, Fall Arrest Systems, Confined Space Entry and Rescue, and Powered Industrial Truck operations.
  • Facilitate monthly safety meetings and lead engaging toolbox talks to reinforce safety culture and ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Investigate and support resolution of accidents, incidents, and near-misses; maintain related records.
  • Inspect work areas and safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for environmental responsibilities.
  • Assist with emergency response efforts and maintain certifications (e.g., Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Department of Transportation (DOT)); manage waste manifests and fire extinguisher programs.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 2 – 3 years of proven expereince in an EHS-related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental-related field highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA, air, wastewater, stormwater, and hazardous waste compliance
  • Familiarity with OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 standards
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage all levels of the organization
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a proactive and self-driven approach
  • Customer-focused problem solver with the ability to influence and drive change
  • Exceptionally organized, with strong time management and the ability to prioritize independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, and other safety or sales platforms

Salary Range: $77,120.00 - $101,220.00

Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
