As a Senior Packaging Material Engineer, you’ll deliver world-class packaging solutions that enable us to deliver quality products our customers and consumers expect.

 

  • Innovate with us as by driving a world-class packaging innovation plan drives that aligns with our growth and supply chain strategy.
  • Develop and introduce packaging and processes that will improve package quality, productivity, and capacity while delivering technical requirements (including sustainability). You will work on fast paced timelines, manage budget, and deliver on supply chain needs by managing and leading complex programs across the manufacturing network.
  • Be a R&D Leader.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Create & Act Boldly – Lead strategically by developing the future of packaging. Influence and collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive supply chain solutions (modernization), top line growth (innovation), while bettering our communities (sustainability). 
    • Provide innovative concepts that are timely and cost-effective, while offering scientific insight and understanding with respect to new or existing products or processes.
  • Win with Purpose – Manage and lead several supply chain focused projects ranging from multiple medium/large sized projects to strategic programs. Accountabilities will include defining of scope, investigation, specification, and scale-up across multiple locations to introduce new or updated packaging that improves quality, product margins, productivity, and capacity in operations. 
  • Show up as One Company – Bring people together cross functionally to make meaningful decisions on recommended options using your packaging expertise, specifically among food development, supply chain, marketing, insights & analytics, procurement, quality, and sales.
  • Have a Make it Better Mindset – Exhibits innovation in discovery, advancement, and evaluation of new technologies in packaging/material research and development, which can have a significant impact on new packaging, improved packaging or packaging systems, and capital avoidance.
  • Bring out the Best in Each Other – As a Senior Packaging Leader you will provide technical and scientific direction and expertise across the organization and among the packaging team; keeping current with the latest developments and technology through investigation, training, and communication within the discipline. Lead with confidence and a can-do attitude.

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Material or Packaging Engineering concentration a PLUS
  • As a recognized technical expert, ability to make recommendations on new products, processes and technologies (including sustainable packaging solutions).
  • Must maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends, competitor technologies, and regulatory issues (sustainability).
  • Prepares plans and reports to effectively coordinate work with plants, suppliers, and supply chain.  Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems that arise during plant testing and scale-up.
  • Communicates/story tell effectively to influence project direction and management.
  • Understands when to bring together key players to resolve project related issues. Functions effectively as a project team member and technical expert.  Able to facilitate the participation of appropriate resources in project completion.
  • Experience working extensively with a supply chain organization a PLUS
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and/or Project Management experience a PLUS

 

Salary Range: $136,480 - $179,130

Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level.  Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
