As the Shipping Manager you are responsible for sustaining service levels and the overall efficiency associated with the delivery of customer orders. You will manage the load building team activity, freight/transportation related to outbound and inbound shipments, and support of the value stream as a sub-process owner of the site’s shipping value stream. In addition, you will supervise all traffic functions relating to freight movement into and out of the warehouse including the routing/expediting of shipments. And have ownership of oversight responsibility over the flow of product from unitizing through AGV fleet and into staging and shipping.

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Monitor warehouse fill levels and maintaining proper product flow as needed.
  • Utilize lean tools, LSW, problem solving huddles or DHP in support of the value stream.
  • Perform root cause analysis related to shipment failures. Be responsible for sustaining value stream within the shipping sub-process and maintaining shipping records, developing a professional business relationship with carriers, and developing cost control methods.
  • Work closely with Corporate Transportation Management to develop and implement transportation policies and programs that meet cost and service objectives and customer requirements.
  • Promote and deploy safety initiative and drive a safety culture
  • Analyze RFP performance at the site level. Partner with transportation to introduce enhancements as needed.
  • Walk the floor, participate in huddles, and actively maintain an awareness of all shipping and receiving operations.
  • Perform regular evaluation of the process map within the sub-process of the shipping value stream.
  • Identify and develop high potential candidates for next level promotions. Work with traffic coordinator and supervisors to address performance gaps and maximize loader output.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • Bachelor's degree in distribution, logistics, business administration or related degree a PLUS
  • A working knowledge of warehouse and transportation management systems is required.
  • Ability to function and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced operating environment is critical.
  • Demonstrate experience with Pit Safety and Warehouse Safety programs
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with exceptional interpersonal skills required.
  • Must be able to interface and communicate effectively within the organization, with business units throughout the company, and with partners across the supply chain.
  • Must be a strong team player with a firm, personal commitment toward the business and its customers.
  • Servant Leadership experience with strong coaching ability preferred.
  • PC expertise - MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

 

Salary Range: $98,880 - $129,780

Salary pay ranges are determined by role and level.  Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, certifications, qualifications, relevant education or training, and local market conditions.
