As the  Senior Research & Development Data Analyst, you will manage and update obsolete data items as well as building and processing new data objects to support ongoing manufacturing of our products and enable new product delivery for Research and Development. You will ensure data compliance for both regulatory and organizational effectiveness needs and create organizational efficiencies for data flow and associated processes. You must have the ability to lead, align, manage, resolve conflict, and work in an ever-changing environment. This role is primarily 75% computer application based with 25% interacting with others to gain information needed to understand and complete processes.  This could be one on one with individuals, working with project teams, or reaching out to suppliers/partners to acquire needed information. Independent work ability to deliver accountabilities. Travel is not expected of job role, with rare exceptions possible. 

This is a Hybrid role that requires the incumbent to live within sixty miles of the Battle Creek, Michigan Headquarter Office. This incumbent must have the ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position. Must be able to use effective verbal and written communication skills on a daily basis. Must have the ability to work in conditions that include multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities, extended work schedules, and specific time constraints.

 

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to: Senior Systems Manager
  • Peer Relationships and Key Contacts: Regular interaction with R&D roles of Product Developers, Food Technologists, and Packaging Technologists.  Cross-functional relationships with Quality End to End Managers, Food Safety Scientists, Wellbeing and Regulatory, Environmental Health and Safety, Information Technology, Procurement, and Supply Chain. External contacts may include contractors, suppliers, and consulting firms.

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

  • Supports data standards and processes to ensure system data integrity and consistency for recipe, raw materials and packaging specifications.
  • Influences data governance guidelines and is responsible for data integrity and accuracy.
  • Supports process workflows. Working with end users to ensure data and documents are populated and move through approval cycles and workflow stages in a timely manner.
  • Generate and maintains training & process documentation.
  • Support SharePoint site management following our R&D guidelines around permissions, meta data usage and maintenance.
  • Partner to identify systems testing criteria.
  • Participate in testing of system and process changes or enhancements.
  • Support ongoing user training. 
  • Supports ongoing efficiencies by communicating process optimization or opportunities for data generation and management.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • A bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with SAP systems.  
  • Experience with SAP and/or Microsoft technologies (SAP RM, SharePoint and Power Apps preferred).
  • Ability to use effective verbal and written communication skills.

 

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

  • Experience with data structure, material management, consumer goods life cycle management preferred. 
  • Food ingredients, packaging materials, or recipe knowledge also preferred.
