We’re hiring a Payroll Specialist (Canada) to join our HR team at the IES Office in Querétaro. In this hybrid role, you’ll play a critical part in processing payroll for our Canadian workforce, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and great service.
You’ll be the go-to person for managing payroll data, resolving errors, and responding to sensitive employee inquiries—all while collaborating with teams across North America. If you’re organized, analytical, and thrive in fast-paced environments, this opportunity is for you.
Work Type: Hybrid (3 days per week on-site at Querétaro IES Office)
HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Process weekly payroll for Canadian employees with accuracy and efficiency
- Calculate payments for new hires, terminations, leaves, and special cases (e.g. disability, military, parental)
- Manage payroll exceptions, adjustments, deductions, and compliance tasks
- Resolve errors and ensure payrolls are completed on time—every time
- Serve as a point of contact for employees and internal stakeholders
- Support account reconciliations, audits, and vendor payments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and respond to legal or compliance-related requests
- Provide top-tier service by managing ServiceNow tickets and employee inquiries
- Help standardize payroll processes and maintain clear procedures
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with all regulations and internal controls
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
- 1–3 years of experience in Canadian payroll or a similar role
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, taxes, and compliance
- Basic accounting skills, especially for handling large data sets
- Great communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential employee data with discretion
- Comfortable working with deadlines and multiple priorities
Nice to Have:
- 2–5 years of experience with multi-country payroll
- Degree in Accounting or certification (CPP, FPP, CEBS, or HR-related)
- Experience with Ceridian or similar payroll systems
- Background working in a Fortune 500 or multinational company
- Familiarity with payroll best practices and process improvements
