Join our team in Querétaro as a Payroll Generalist! As a Payroll Generalist, you’ll be the primary point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees in the U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canada. You’ll manage requests through Service Now, email, eFax, and other internal tools, ensuring timely and accurate responses. This role is essential in processing tax orders, meeting daily and weekly deadlines, and maintaining adherence to payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls. You’ll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to provide essential payroll insights while upholding strict confidentiality and ensuring clear, professional communication in line with SLA agreements.

 

 

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

 

Payroll Support & Compliance

  • Assist in processing payroll for 3,000 U.S., Puerto Rico, and Canadian employees.
  • Respond to time-sensitive legal correspondence and ensure compliance with payroll policies and procedures.
  • Serve as backup for setting up deductions such as overpayments, medical contributions, and union dues.

Accuracy & Deadline Management

  • Meet quarterly and annual payroll deadlines with high accuracy.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Process Improvement & Training

  • Maintain and develop payroll procedures and training materials, supporting both internal teams and HR generalists.
  • Identify process patterns to drive standardization and support compliance audits (404 controls).
  • Provide Dayforce support to corporate payroll partners.

Communication & Confidentiality

  • Communicate professionally with internal teams, legal, and external stakeholders on sensitive payroll matters.
  • Respond to employee inquiries through Service Now, maintaining confidentiality and ensuring SLA adherence.

Financial Insight & Analysis

  • Apply good accounting practices and assist with overpayment deduction processing.

 

 

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of payroll experience or similar role
  • Intermediate accounting skills, especially in large spreadsheet reconciliations
  • Advanced English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization abilities
  • Ability to interpret complex legal and tax information
  • Commitment to confidentiality with sensitive employee data

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or certifications like CPP, FPP, CEBS, or HR-related
  • 2-5 years of experience processing multi-state payrolls
  • Familiarity with payroll best practices
