JOB OVERVIEW

We’re looking for an EHS Specialist to support our Environmental, Health, & Safety function by developing and delivering effective policies, procedures, training, auditing, and communications. In this role, you’ll help strengthen adherence to WK Kellogg Co standards and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. You’ll partner closely with plant leadership, hourly team members, consultants, and corporate teams to guide, influence, and move our safety culture and environmental performance forward. 

HERE’S WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Coordinate with environmental consultants on regulatory requirements and permits.
  • Develop and analyze Natural Resources Conservation metrics.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to environmental compliance calendars, programs, and WK Kellogg standards.
  • Collaborate with COE teams on natural resource conservation savings projects.
  • Oversee and revise the Environmental Incident Investigation program.
  • Manage chemical approvals, storage, usage, and site SDS documentation.
  • Partner with Sanitation on site waste management programs.
  • Supervise environmental compliance programs.
  • Support EHS committees and deploy KIWS phase requirements.
  • Support the execution of Natural Resource Conservation (NRC) projects.
  • Provide training and development to hourly labor in partnership with plant leadership.
  • Maintain strong understanding of plant processes and escalate risks or improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare, maintain, and submit required records and reports using Enablon.
  • Drive WKKC beliefs and behaviors across the site.
  • Support the deployment of EHS programs and adhere to company policies.
  • Oversee site Industrial Hygiene programs and operational EHS management.
  • Develop, review, and revise site safety plans.
  • Prioritize major site hazards and ensure risk mitigation actions are taken.
  • Lead investigations for safety and environmental incidents and support management reviews.
  • Ensure accurate and timely EHS recordkeeping, including regulatory submissions.
  • Track, report, and analyze EHS performance and implement corrective actions as needed.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field OR High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and plant-specific systems such as Kbuy, SAP, Pi Vision, Enablon, and Alchemy Manager.
  • Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to meet corporate and regulatory deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working toward or holding an EHS professional designation.
  • Experience with monitoring equipment used in environmental assessments.
  • Strong computer literacy with experience across multiple software platforms.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This role requires active engagement across the plant, including participation in meetings, equipment reviews, and site audits. The role requires wearing PPE as needed and being on call 24/7 for emergency investigations. Occasional travel (approx. 5%) and weekend/holiday coverage may be required.

Salary Range: $58,640 – $73,300
